MINIMUM ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT, MAXIMUM AWARENESS

An area of 2.5 million square meters around the Eti Alüminyum A.Ş. Seydişehir facilities was rehabilitated with 130,000 trees, including walnut, poplar, black pine and acacia, reducing the detrimental impact of greenhouse gases. Forestation work is still ongoing in this region. An investment of USD 5 million went into converting to natural gas in order to reduce the environmental impact of Grade 6 Fuel oil that was in use at the facilities and high in sulfur and SO2. After privatization, USD 15 million was invested in dealing with gas emissions at the Eti Alüminyum A.Ş. Seydişehir facilities. With this investment, gas emissions dropped to 50% lower than EU norms.
